A manual system for dimming video lights was awkward to operate whilst simultaneously operating the video camera.

The design shown overcomes this problem. When activated the system will vary the brightness of the lights from a minimum level to a maximum pre-set level or vice versa. The speed of the dimming process can be altered from the main unit, and the dimming process can be activated from the main unit or alternatively from a remote control unit which may be located near the camera.

A second unit was made to a customers requirements. The principle of operation was the same but an additional requirement was that the maximum level of two different lights could be controlled independently. Although not a requirement, the unit can control the dimming of each channel independently, this allows the possible situation where one light is reducing in level whilst the other is increasing.

Another smaller unit was designed for a customer. This unit can only be controlled remotely and has a fixed fade time.
